Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko considers that the Ukrainian and Russian governments are reliable partners and open for further cooperation, she said in Moscow at a joint news conference with Russian Premier Vladimir Putin, UKRINFORM reported with reference to the governmental web-site.

Justice Minister proposes Government and Vanco Company "to balance interests" in order to avoid hearing at Stockholm arbitration
Interests of the Government and Vanco should be balanced in order to avoid court actions on the part of this company versus Ukraine, Justice Minister Mykola Onishchuk told a press conference. According to N. Onishchuk, nobody can make the Cabinet to fulfill the terms of the agreement with this company concluded against its will. But risks should be also taken into consideration that may arise in case of the agreement termination related to violation of obligations by another party. Vanco then may demand satisfaction of its interests in the court, including payment of damages due to nonfulfillment of the agreement, the minister said.

Ukraine, Latvia presidents note high level of bilateral dialogue
The level of Ukrainian - Latvian dialogue demonstrates high political trust, Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko said during his talks with Latvian President Valdis Zatlers, who is staying on a state visit in Kyiv. Yushchenko pointed out the importance for Ukraine of Latvia's support for Ukraine's European and Euroatlantic policy. He reminded that it was also not easy for Latvia to obtain membership in the European Union and NATO, but on the path to this target it reached public understanding and dialogue of political forces. "This way Ukraine is passing now, and I am convinced of success on this question," Yushchenko said.

Ukraine, Portugal sign road map 2008-2010, agree on military cooperation, organization of air service
In frames of a visit of President Viktor Yushchenko to Lisbon, Ukraine and Portugal signed a Road Map of Ukraine-Portugal Relations 2008-2010, as well as Air Service Agreement, Crime Control Agreement and Military Cooperation Agreement. The Air Service Agreement creates a bilateral contract-legal frame for air transport cooperation. President Viktor Yushchenko, who is on an official visit to Lisbon, called Ukrainian-Portuguese bilateral relations as "dynamic" ones. At a meeting with Portugal President Anibal Cavaco Silva, held today, Viktor Yushchenko discussed trade-economic cooperation between Ukraine and Portugal, cooperation in humanitarian and social spheres, perspectives of Ukraine's European and Euro-Atlantic integration. He noted permanent support of Ukraine by the Portugal's party in those issues.

Ukraine may help EU to solve foodstuffs crisis, energy resources price hike - Yulia Tymoshenko
Ukraine may help the European Union to solve such crucial issues as overcoming foodstuffs crisis and rise in prices of energy resources, Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko said this at a joint news conference with leader of the European People's Party (EPP) Wilfried Martens. "Expecting this year crops yield 2-3 times greater, Ukraine may make its considerable contribution to supplying the EU countries with foodstuffs," she said.

International courts find no violation from Ukraine regarding foreign investors
As of June 2008, international courts examined 6 cases upon suits of foreign investors against Ukraine and found no breaches of investment agreements on the part of the state. This was disclosed at the International Conference on Investment Agreements and Alternative Methods of Dispute Resolution between the State and Investor which is running in Kyiv.
