Speaker to announce about new coalition on availability of 226 signatures of deputies
|
Verkhovna Rada Chairman Volodymyr Lytvyn will announce about formation of the new parliamentary coalition in case there are 226 signatures of people's deputies / there are 450 seats at the VR - Ed./.
"226 signatures is a key factor for me. If there are 226 signatures tomorrow that the people want to take responsibility on themselves to be named as coalition - I will make a relevant announcement," Lytvyn has said in an interview.
If there are no such signatures, a process of consolidation will continue, the Speaker added.
"But it is quite obvious that it is impossible to delay with this process, since otherwise the process will develop from bad to the worse," he emphasized.
Lytyvn noted that the coalition, in compliance with the Constitution, will be formed by factions, "and it's quite another matter how many of them will be there" and he underscored that for him it is primarily important in the process of setting up a new coalition "to maximum observe legal correctness." Another important factor, he noted, is the coalition's effective work. "It is necessary to act in totality of these two factors," the Parliament Chairman summed up.
The Verkhovna Rada Chairman also expressed conviction that the preterm parliamentary election will not occur.
