According to the UN classification, the report says, this country is believed to be a net exporter of food, growing over a ton of grain and oil-bearing crops per capita.

In total, according to forecasts as of July 2009, this season Ukraine will harvest about 53.3 million tons of grain and oil-bearing crops, or 1.15 tons per capita.

Following the July correction of forecasts, experts increased the expected production of barley by 30.9%, wheat by 5.4%, corn by 9.7%, and rape by 5.5%.
