Territorial integrity vital both to Ukraine and China - Tymoshenko

To Ukraine, as well as to China, the issue of territorial integrity is vitally important, because Ukraine still has some demarcation problems, Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko said during her meeting with the Chinese delegation led by Wang Gang, vice-chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference.

"To us, as well as to China, the issue of territorial integrity is of a particular importance. And I want to assure once again that our position on the Taiwan issue is invariable and distinct," Yulia Tymoshenko emphasized.

The Prime Minister also spoke highly about China's role in the creation of a contemporary global security system.

Beside that, the head of government assured that Ukraine has a stake in implementation together with China of joint projects in power industry and agriculture. The Prime Minister noted that these questions will be examined during a bilateral meeting.

In Tymoshenko's words, Ukraine pays a special attitude to the visit of the Chinese delegation, because it is very important to Ukraine to find reliable partners, especially during the finance and economy crisis. In the Prime Minister's opinion, the arrival of the Chinese delegation will essentially revitalize the bilateral relations.

In his turn, Wang Gang stated that China is interested in a broadening of cooperation with Ukraine in the development of up-to-date technologies and aerospace industry. He highly appreciated the condition of China's trade and economic relations with Ukraine.

Beside that, Wang Gang emphasized that China has a stake in development of joint projects for the construction of facilities required for holding the European Football Championship in 2012, as well as in cooperation in the field of military technologies.
