Six parties and blocs could form parliament

If the elections to the Verkhovna Rada are held in May this year, the Parliament would be formed by six parties and blocs, returns of a survey carried out by the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology testify to it.

As the Institute's press service informed, the Party of Regions would rank the first (37% of the respondents' votes). The Yulia Tymoshenko Bloc would rank the second (23% of the respondents' votes). The Arseniy Yatseniuk Bloc would rank the third (15% of the respondents' votes), and the Communist Party would rank the fourth (6% of the votes), while the Volodymyr Lytvyn Bloc would rank the fifth (5% of the votes). The Viktor Yushchenko Bloc Our Ukraine for which 3% of respondents gave their votes is on the threshold of the statistical error.

The survey was carried out on May 21-31, 2009. 2,008 respondents were interrogated who reside in all Ukrainian regions.
