Government suggests economizing on insurance, rehabilitation of Rada deputies
|
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine proposes that Verkhovna Rada (parliament) abolish free insurance of life and health of people's deputies, as well as their invigoration at the cost of the state, Labor and Social Policy Minister Liudmyla Denisova told a government meeting.
She said the government had approved appropriate amendments to the law on the status of a people's deputy.
The innovations also concern Rada deputies of previous convocations.
Currently, if a people's deputy is not employed in the course of a year upon expiry of his mandate, he receives his full parliamentary salary all along this year. If he undergoes professional training, he receives that very sum for two years long. The Cabinet proposes cutting those terms to one month for employment and three months for training.
