Ulianchenko appointed head of Presidential Secretariat


  
Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko has appointed Kyiv Regional Governor Vira Ulianchenko as the head of his secretariat.

On May 16, 2009, she was elected the head of the council of the pro-presidential Our Ukraine People's Union party.

In 2000-2001, Ulianchenko served as an assistant to then Ukrainian Prime Minister Viktor Yushchenko. In 2002-2005, she headed the secretariat of the Our Ukraine faction of deputies in the Verkhovna Rada, Ukraine's parliament.

In 2005-2006, Ulianchenko was an MP elected on the party ticket of the Our Ukraine Bloc.

Ulianchenko is considered to be a unique politician and party organizer, because being an Our Ukraine member, she can maintain good relations with people representing different political camps.

In August 2007, Ulianchenko ranked 22nd in the ratings of 100 most influential Ukrainians compiled by the Korrespondent magazine.

She was 7th in last year's ranking of 100 most influential Ukrainian women drafted by the Focus magazine.
