President demands putting Odesa - Brody on direct flow

"I am demanding from the government immediate transfer of Odesa - Brody to the designed work mode, i.e. the direct flow," Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko told a meeting at his Secretariat.

The President emphasized that Odesa - Brody had not been put on direct operation terms for political reasons, and voiced hope that the government would "have enough bravery and wisdom for passing the relevant decision."

Yushchenko reminded that on April 9 the President of Azerbaijan expressed preparedness for supply of Caspian oil to Ukraine and European Union member-countries, which will secure direct operation of Odesa - Brody. "That is why the problem is with the Ukrainian party alone," the President said.

The feasibility report on the Eurasian oil transportation corridor, in the President's words, will be presented at a closest meeting of the European Commission.
