Ukraine, Poland presidents mull Odesa-Brody-Plock pipeline project

"It is good that cooperation is improving, and the times when certain confrontation was felt are becoming a thing of the past," Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko said Wednesday, during a meeting with her Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin, an UKRINFORM correspondent reported from Russia.

As she put it, the two countries are going over to fruitful cooperation.

Following the bilateral talks, Tymoshenko expressed gratitude to the Russian Federation for the possibility of consuming natural gas in a lesser volume than was contracted for 2009. The parties are showing mutual understanding on the issue, as it is clear that Ukraine may consume as much gas as the crisis allows it, she says.

The Prime Minister also emphasized that "the system of gas deliveries to Ukraine is stable," and Ukraine makes timely payments for Russian gas supplies.

She also pointed to positive dynamic of nuclear fuel supplies.
