Cabinet passes resolution instead of anti-crisis bills rejected by parliament

The Ukrainian government has managed to find necessary mechanisms to adopt resolutions in order to balance the budgets of NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine and the Pension Fund. Accordingly, these issues no longer need legal regulation, Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko has told a briefing on Friday evening after the Cabinet's extraordinary meeting.
Y. Tymoshenko stressed that the government is not going to submit similar draft laws in the parliament any more in view of today's refusal of the Verkhovna Rada to consider and vote for the instruments.
The Prime Minister is convinced that the anti-crisis package, which has been today adopted by the Cabinet at its extraordinary meeting, will let balance Ukraine's finance system and help restore cooperation with the IMF.
The government and the National Bank have also signed a joint resolution to regulate the process of recapitalization of the joint-stock banks the NBU had taken control.
The bailout package also includes a resolution to set special tariffs for wealthy citizens, owners of large houses consuming huge volumes of natural gas and electricity.
IMF Mission Chief in Ukraine Ceyla Pazarbasioglu, who has also attended the meeting, appreciated today's decisions of the Ukrainian Cabinet of Ministers.
"We will further discuss the decisions made with representatives of the government, but it is now clear that the government has made its best to restore a financial balance in the Pension Fund and NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine," Ceyla Pazarbasioglu underscored.
