Ukraine will be ready to conclude association agreement with EU in autumn - President

In the fall, Ukraine will be ready for conclusion of an agreement on association with the European Union, Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko said during his meeting with lecturers and students of the Ternopil National Economy University, the presidential press service reported.

"I am sure that in autumn we will be ready to sign the association agreement," he said adding that active work is also continuing on conclusion of a free trade zone agreement with the European Union.

Touching on Ukraine's European aspirations, Viktor Yushchenko noted that the eurointegration course of this country remains unchanged. He pointed out the great progress in relations with the EU in the past few years.

Beside that, the President says, "today's optimal form of protecting the national interests is the system of collective security," which is recognized the world over.
