The Cabinet of Ministers is asking the Verkhovna Rada to consider at its February 3 meeting a draft resolution on the Cabinet of Ministers accountability envisaging a no-confidence motion against the government. The draft resolution was registered by the opposition Party of Regions.

According to Petro Krupko, the Minister of the Cabinet of Ministers, this issue [about a no-confidence to Y. Tymoshenko's government - ed.] has been discussed in the society for a long time and must be therefore considered by the parliament as soon as possible.

The Bloc of Yulia Tymoshenko (BYuT) stands for the consideration of the Cabinet's report on February 3, BYuT faction leader Ivan Kyrylenko told a meeting of the Conciliation Board with the heads of the parliamentary factions. He said that those factions and MPs, who will vote for a no-confidence motion against the Cabinet "must undertake responsibility for the formation of the new government".

For his part, Party of Regions leader Viktor Yanukovych stressed that the party demands the government's report along with the President to "hear the truth from the Premier and President, first of all, about the economic situation in the country and as regards the budget".

At the same time, Vadym Karasiov , Director of the Institute for Global Strategies, said at a press conference that the parliament will not have enough votes to pass tomorrow a vote of no confidence in the government led by Yulia Tymoshenko,.

"There won't be enough votes for a fruitful vote on a motion of no confidence in the government, and Tymoshenko will get additional political legitimacy," he said.

Karasiov said that this step taken by the Cabinet of Ministers (the government itself insists on the urgent consideration of its report) is a "successful move ahead," because the opposition Party of Regions repeatedly raised this question, but failed to take some steps.

He said that the vote on this issue would end all talks about the resignation of the Cabinet of Ministers, the lack of confidence in the government, and the disruption of the economy by it.
