Tymoshenko: gas price in 2009 on Ukraine-Russia border to post USD 228.8 per 1,000 cu m |

Y. Tymoshenko called the price "adequate", adding that it [the price] will be further raising in line with tax burdens. "This is the last year for Ukraine to focus on energy saving, alternative energy sources using and raising own extraction of hydrocarbons," the Head of Government said. She also noted that the cost of natural gas for Ukraine will be further setting based on the formula marketable price.
The Prime Minister expressed hopes that the government will be working on all these issues throughout the year. She also said that the transit cost for natural gas through Ukraine will be kept at USD 1.7 per 1,000 cu m for 100 km.
