NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine and the Russia-based JSC Gazprom have today signed in Moscow a gas deal. Signing the documents on behalf of Ukraine was Naftogaz CEO Oleh Dubyna and on behalf of Russia, Gazprom CEO Alexei Miller. The bipartite contracts on gas deliveries for Ukraine's consumers and gas transit through Ukraine are for 10 years.

Russia's Prime Minister Vladimir Putin has said that from now on there will be no mediator in Russian gas trading with Ukraine. The gas price and transit rate will not be pegged as well.

Gazprom has been already ordered to restore the transit of gas to Europe and resume gas supplies to Ukraine.

For her part, Yulia Tymoshenko has assured that gas deliveries to the EU countries will be immediately restored as soon as this gas arrives in the Ukrainian gas transmission system (GTS).
