Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko said that she in opposition to Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko. She announced this at a briefing at the Cabinet of Ministers on Saturday, UKRINFORM reported.
"I clearly state that I'm in opposition to such officials as the President of Ukraine and the National Bank Chairman. Along with the country, I will try to ensure there are no such events in Ukraine," Tymoshenko said, referring to illegal schemes with hryvnia devaluation.
She also expressed regret that during the presidential elections of 2004, she supported the candidacy of Viktor Yushchenko. "It's a pity that this person, whom I supported during the Orange [Revolution] on [Independence] Square, persuaded people and campaigned [for Yushchenko] as an honest and moral politician, today descended to the level that it is even shameful to mention his name," the head of government said.
Speaking about the situation on the currency market, Tymoshenko expressed hope that the Verkhovna Rada would hold a quick and honest investigation in the context of a specially created investigation commission.
