Yushchenko to speak to Parliament only after renewal of VR capability - presidential press secretary

President Viktor Yushchenko will speak to the Parliament only under condition that the Verkhovna Rada renewes its capability, President's Press Secretary Iryna Vannykova said Friday as MPs demanding to invite the President to the Verkhovna Rada on December 9.
"Viktor Yushchenko is convinced that the people's deputies should renew capability of the Parliament before demanding a meeting with the Head of State. It is necessary to elect Speaker, to create a coalition, to make public its program principles and top priorities", she noted.
During a time of its cadence, the VR has blocked adoption of bills principally important for development of Ukraine, the presidential press secretary underscored, having added that the President "actually fulfills work of the deputies", making them to adopt the bills prepared and submitted by him.
The President and the Ukrainian society, Vannykova noted, would like to hear a report of the parliamentarians themselves about their activities in 2008.
According to the President, the minimum task is adoption of the State Budget-2009 and the second stage of the anti-crisis package of bills. "The President considers it is expedient to discuss the possible participation in the Parliament's work only after fulfillment of the aforementioned minimum program", Vannykova noted.
