President urges to review draft budget-2009, launch work of stabilization fund immediately

President Viktor Yushchenko demanded to recall the governmental draft state budget-2009 from the parliament at the November 7 meeting of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC).

V. Yushchenko explained that it is connected with the necessity to recalculate basic indicators of the state budget in view of the economic turmoil.

The Head of State was peremptory with assessments. "The budget submitted to the parliament is not a subject to discussion, we must discuss another budget," he stressed addressing Finance Minister Viktor Pynzenyk.

The President also voiced dissatisfaction about non-fulfillment by the Verkhovna Rada of the anti-crisis laws in terms of preventing unemployment and called on the Cabinet to launch the work of the stabilization fund immediately.

"This is a source that can be enabled in few days. We have to demonstrate that the stabilization find of the country started filling and strategic economic programs are financed from it," Yushchenko said.
