Dear MPs, there is still a chance for mutual understanding, I bank on your responsibility for Ukraine's future and reiterate that I am ready to accept any coalition given it is formed in line with the Constitution, President Viktor Yushchenko stressed addressing the 6th convocation Verkhovna Rada MPs.
He reminded that the parliament forgot about its key tasks having instead engaged itself in endless race for power. According to him, "beginning from September 2 the country has witnessed a union of former "irreconcilable" opponents - the Bloc of Yulia Tymoshenko, Party of Regions and Communist Party, who "were consistently voting distributing powers in their interests".
Nevertheless, consolidation of BYuT and Party of Regions into a coalition has finally failed. "Obviously, personal power ambitions of the two political forces leaders did not let them come to an agreement," the President stressed.
V. Yushchenko reiterated he "surely" backs those voters who want renewal of the democratic coalition. However, he is convinced, "efforts of the Bloc of Yulia Tymoshenko to return to a democratic format of the coalition is nothing but a stroke of policy to preserve powers".
V. Yushchenko called another snap election as "a stress for the country", but he will have to follow this "radical, but the constitutional and fully democratic way of crisis situation settlement" given the political forces fail to come to an agreement on coalition's creation.
