Premier blames President for demolition of democratic coalition in favor of eliminating Yulia Tymoshenko as hypothetical competitor at upcoming presidential elections

At today's new conference Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko directly accused President Viktor Yushchenko of demolition of the democratic coalition. According to her, these actions of the President aim "to destroy" her as a hypothetical competitor at the upcoming presidential elections.
"The President clings to power and sacrifices the future of his country for the sake of power," Tymoshenko strongly stressed making an example that, in particular, about 50 governmental documents designed for carrying out strategic reforms were vetoed by the President.
The Premier noted that the only possible format for the activity of her political force in the parliament is the format of the democratic coalition and that she personally, first of all, is interested in preserving this coalition.
Y. Tymoshenko noted that the BYuT faction cannot "return" to the democratic coalition it is presently called for as it has never left the coalition. "BYuT has never left and will never leave the democratic coalition if it works and gives results," she underscored.
The Premier refuted accusation on the part of the President that the coalition breakdown is run based on a BYuT's scenario dictated from Moscow. In fact, Tymoshenko said, demolition of the democratic coalition started from the first day of its creation under the personal supervision of Head of the Presidential Secretariat Viktor Baloha. A component part of the scenario Yulia Tymoshenko also names the initiative on the government's dismissal, which, however, had failed, and production of the Party of Regions MPs in the Constitutional Court to declare the coalition no longer exists.
