Indicators of budget amendments 2008 demonstrate breakthrough promised by government, Prime Minister says

The indicators which are put in the basis of amendments to the state budget 2008 demonstrate the Ukrainian breakthrough the government had promised, Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko told a presentation of the budget amendments.

"We've passed the way of economics unshadowing having received in the budget extra UAH 30.4 billion (USD 1 - UAH 4.85)," she said.

According to Tymoshenko, Ukraine saw inefficient policy from the economic and regulative points of view over the independent years, while during 6 moths the government has managed to show extremely high indicators. Investment inflow increased 4folds, GDP grew 6.4folds, industrial production - 8%, while machine building - 31%.

"Inflation will be 2.5folds lower compared to June 2007. We've curbed inflation," she stressed.
