Cabinet endorses draft amendments to state budget 2008

At its extraordinary meeting on July 5, the Ukrainian government approved the draft amendments to the state budget 2008 and will today submit them to the Verkhovna Rada. At the same time, the Cabinet will continue to coordinate positions regarding the budget process with the President, the governmental web-site says.

Yulia Tymoshenko said that the government has managed to ensure a 6.4% economic growth, curb inflation and receive extra UAH 30.4 bn due to economic development and unshadowing. These funds will be channeled for financing agrarian sector, energy, shipbuilding, aircraft industry, subventions to regions, implementation of social programs, increasing salaries, pensions, compensation of deposits of the USSR Sberbank clients.

Yulia Tymoshenko says that consideration of the document in the parliament serves a test for MPs who will show what is important for them - service to their electors and Ukraine or power ambitions and struggle for posts.
