PRESIDENT LAYS FLOWERS TO MEMORIAL MOUND "TO THE HEROES OF CHORNOBYL"

President Viktor Yushchenko took part in a commemoration prayer and laid flowers to the Memorable Mound "To the Heroes of Chornobyl". The vents took place in Kyiv on the occasion of the 22nd anniversary of the Chornobyl accident occurred April 26, 1986, the presidential press-service reported.

In memory of those died, Metropolitan of Kyiv and All Ukraine Volodymyr (Sabodan) served a commemoration prayer. The event participants lighted candles at the Memorial and held a moment of silence in remembrance of the died with 22 bell strokes.
