Presidents Viktor Yushchenko of Ukraine and Vladimir Putin of Russia have signed the 2008 action plan "Ukraine-Russia". The document was signed up to sum up a sitting of the Ukrainian-Russian international commission "Yushchenko-Putin".

Viktor Yuschenko admitted to no un-adjustable problems in the bipartite relations of Ukraine and Russia.

The president also insisted on stepping up trade and economic cooperation. We must meet the WTO demands for the sake interests of both states, he said. I believe reciprocal bans won't aid development of trade relations, he said.

In turn, Vladimir Putin admitted to a large number of events since the first sitting of the "Yuschenko -Putin" commission, which had a profound impact on the bipartite relations. Putin also stressed that the commission should single out directions of further cooperation. The Russian president stressed that Russia appreciates its relations with Ukraine. This is one of the most potent trade partners of Russia, Vladimir Putin said and added that trade turnover between the states upped by 20% in 2007. He also agreed that fulfillment of potent projects will strengthen the Ukrainian -Russian relations.
