Following a meeting of the Euro 2012 Preparatory Coordination Board, President Viktor Yushchenko expressed worries about slow pace of preparation to the event and absence of proper coordination between all the involved bodies, including central and regional authorities.

In particular, only 9 out of 19 branch programs and 10 out of 26 regional programs were prepared as of February 1.

Another concern expressed by the President was inefficient attracting investments. A project on attracting investments has to be prepared by April 1, however, he noted that a little work has been done on that.

According to Viktor Yushchenko, officials responsible for Euro 2012 preparations could be dismissed in case they fail to elaborate an action plan to prepare to the event.

The President expressed himself for creating a single control system in light of preparations for the championship.

In the context, the President called on the National Agency for Euro 2012, State Committee for Television and Radio Broadcasting and Ukrainian Football Federation "to stop squabbling" and fulfill all decisions clearly and in coordination.

Another question of urgent importance, which the President mentioned, was guaranteeing proper financing of preparatory measures to EURO 2012 and balanced distribution of costs during 2008 and following years.
