PRESIDENT DEMANDS FROM NAFTOGAZ CEO TO STABILIZE COMPANY IN 2008 |

President Viktor Yushchenko met with NaftoGaz of Ukraine Head Oleh Dubyna on Friday, the presidential press service told UKRINFORM. The parties to the meeting discussed financial issues of the company during 2007 as well as outlined basic strategies for 2008.
The president noted that after amendments are introduced to the 2008 budget the threat of financial bankruptcy of the national joint-stock company NaftoGaz of Ukraine is to be removed.
As for the future Yushchenko said that it is necessary to prepare a program of company's development which would ensure NaftoGaz of Ukraine financial self-sufficiency as well as to guarantee retaining control over gas-transport system by the state.
On his part Mr Dubyna informed President Yushchenko that the commission on inspecting economic activity of NaftoGaz of Ukraine established by Presidential Decree of January 9 has started its work. Overall O. Dubyna evaluated the condition of the company as critically unsatisfactory and handed over to the president data on company's work. He also noted that company faces excessive fiscal burden.
