President Viktor Yushchenko congratulated the people of Ukraine on New Year.

"Dear people of Ukraine,Dear fellow citizens,New Year is coming.

As this winter air enveloping Saint Sophia the holiday is born in the State.
I feel calmness and confidence in my heart for all of us.

I want to say simple and close words to you.

These are the words of love, gratitude, support and respect for all of us, acquaintances and strangers, close and far, good, beautiful people, our people, whom I belong with all my heart and soul and without whom I cannot imagine my life.

Is it convenient for the President to speak about his feelings?

Yes, I deeply confident it is.

Today we should all speak about our deepest feelings, about attitude toward each other, in our families, festive companies and forget about no loneliest heart.

The outgoing year was a difficult one.

We have much survived - inspiration, dramas and joy.

But we are strong and this good and powerful force continues our way.

I cannot escape noting politics. We have witnessed changes in the country. We have elected the new parliament and the meaning of this choice is much bigger than politics.

We have a great and really vital chance.

My dear fellow citizens, we have stopped threats, caused by betrayal and discord of politicians. You have said your word, this is a good lesson.

Thanks to you, the authority will learn to change. I have done my best for they to learn this lesson for sure.

The outgoing year, gave many hopes and promises, they should shape in a real result in the coming year.

The most important thing for me was economic growth, combating poverty and sure social initiatives, covering on almost 35 million people. My position is strong: they must be fulfilled.

We have withdrawn our ship from whirlpool and now it is time for calm and well-coordinated work.

I have started from words of attitude toward each other. The simple truth, love and support, is important.

The country was united when we have won the honor of co-hosting Euro-2012. Do not doubt Ukraine will worthy host the competition.

Ukraine was united in joy and in grief, when it lost innocent people in the terrible accidents in Dnipropetrovsk and at the Zasiadko mine. These disasters, their victims and reasons will not be forgotten.

Something very important moved inside us when we together with 193 countries of the world marked the memory of Holodomor and realized its reason. Eventually, we have realized ourselves a nation.

We were staying united in many strained, dramatic, but also hopeful situations.
We still have much to change ahead and first of all ourselves.
We should finally feel inspiration.

The culture of thoughtful masters, who are not indifferent to their houses and streets, should finally arise in Ukraine. Each of you is a master.

We should think about the life and act for the sake of the life, for the sake of our children, spouses, parents, for the sake of continuing our families, their health and future.

We are able to restore the truth about our history.

We are able to understand the essence of our national belonging to Ukraine.

We are able for deeper, better, more tolerant reciprocal feelings.

We should every day talk about that and act, as it is our unique life, our State and confidence in our success.

Everything will be fine. Let the New Year wind bring these words from Sophia to Hoverla, from Hoverla to Crimea, to the East, West, South and North of our country.

We are stepping in the year of great capabilities.

I ask God give each of you and your families good health, goodness and happiness.
