PRESIDENT AND SPEAKER DISCUSS FORMATION OF NEW GOVT AND ELECTION OF PARLIAMENTARY LEADERSHIP

President Viktor Yushchenko met with Verkhovna Rada Chairman Arseniy Yatsenyuk on Monday, the presidential press service told UKRINFORM.

The meeting focused on the president's nomination of the prime minister, candidatures of the foreign minister and defense minister, who are also nominated by the president.

Talking about the VR Tuesday session, Speaker Yatsenyuk told the president that according to the VR rules, the Tuesday agenda will include voting on the prime minister's candidature and the government staff, as well as the parliamentary committees and VR leadership. "We are ready for any succession of these issues," Yatsenyuk said.

On his part the president stressed that it is important that the Tuesday session of the parliament be constructive. MPs should show respect for each other and for the rules, the president said
