KYIV, November 11 /UKRINFORM/. 17 people have died of the A/H1N1 flue in Ukraine, First Deputy Health Minister Vasyl Lazoryschynets informed.

In his words, a total of 70 California virus cases have been confirmed in Ukraine.

Lazoryschynets also said in all 1,122,188 people have contracted flu and acute respiratory virus infections in this country.

Beside that, only eight regions of Ukraine have not crossed the epidemic threshold.

In the deputy minister's words, a total of 90,500 people have fallen ill in the past 24 hours, and 57,000 are undergoing hospital treatment, including 357 at intensive care wards, and 49 on artificial ventilation.

Since the start of the epidemic, the health ministry says, 189 people have died.

Despite remaining difficult, the situation is controlled and does not get beyond the framework of last year's average statistic indicators, the source said.
