President signs decree on 2022 Winter Olympics

KYIV, June 5 /UKRINFORM/. Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has signed a decree on preparations for the holding of the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games in Ukraine in 2022.

The decree has been posted on the website of the head of state.

The committee on submitting a bid to host the competition in Ukraine is headed by Deputy Prime Minister Oleksandr Vilkul.

The amendments to the state social program for the development of sports and tourism infrastructure in Ukraine in 2011-2022 should be introduced within two months.

According to these amendments, infrastructure, sports and tourist facilities should be built in accordance with international standards, and free access to such facilities should be ensured for persons with disabilities.

The National Olympic Committee and the National Sports Committee for the Disabled should spread information about the positive image of Ukraine abroad and its tourism potential.

The State Committee on Television and Radio Broadcasting should ensure media coverage of the events to receive the right to host 2022 Olympics in Ukraine.
