Nalyvaichenko: Terrorists agree on 20-sq. km. security area around Boeing crash scene

KYIV, July 19 /Ukrinform/. The security forces managed to agree with terrorists on the possibility of working at the scene of crash of the Malaysian Boeing-777 plane in Donetsk region, Chief of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) Valentyn Nalyaichenko told the Shuster-LIVE talk show on Friday.

"Tripartite talks decided that there are 20 square kilometers for Ukraine to fulfil humane mission, take the bodies, give them to their relatives. For this it has been agreed on 20 square kilometers, a specific area, and we hope that the terrorists will let us work. The tripartite group includes representatives of Russia, and let they finally keep their word," the head of the security service said.

A reminder that on July 18, after a video conference of the tripartite contact group involving Ukraine, Russia and the OSCE, terrorist representatives have promised not to obstruct the investigation. The terrorists agreed to leave the scene of the crash and to give the local authorities the opportunity to start searching the bodies.

The Malaysia Airlines passenger Boeing 777 with 298 people aboard crashed in a rebel-controlled part of eastern Ukraine near the town of Torez in Donetsk region on Thursday. The passenger jet was on the way from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur, flying at about 10,000 meters (nearly 33,000 feet).
