HIV/AIDS POSITIVE UKRAINIANS DOWN IN NUMBER

KYIV, November 30 /UKRINFORM/. A number of registered HIV/AIDS positive Ukrainians has decreased over the latest 10 months by 100,000 people. Ukraine also faced low life loss, caused by the HIV/AIDS in 2003 to 2006.

According to data of the Health Ministry, HIV/AIDS spreads via the social factor, notably injections, virus spread among prisoners and prostitutes. HIV/AIDS is peculiar for the youth of 20 to 39 years and teenagers, aged 15 to 17. HIV spread downed in cities, however sparked in rural district in comparison by the last year.

As of December 1 as many as 119,107 HIV positive Ukrainians have been officially registered in Ukraine and 21,594 more citizens have contracted AIDS. HIV is common to 1,400 children.

The AIDS caused the 12,016 death toll. A majority of virus holders died of tuberculosis.
